TMC "Protecting their Shahjahan" by attacking Sandeshkhali women: Modi in Purulia
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has taken legal action against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai for their allegations of accepting bribes to ask questions in Parliament. In a surprising turn of events, the Delhi High Court expressed astonishment during the hearing of this defamation suit, as Moitra's lawyer, Gopal Sankaranarayanan, was criticized for attempting to persuade Dehadrai to withdraw his complaint before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in exchange for his pet dog.
The TMC MP faces another trouble as her former friend and advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai has reportedly written a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner and accused the TMC MP of "stealing" and "hiding" his pet dog named Henry.

Following this controversial proposal, Sankaranarayanan recused himself from representing Moitra, and the court has scheduled the next hearing for October 31.
The ongoing legal battle revolves around accusations of bribery, with Dehadrai having provided 'evidence' to Dubey, which allegedly proves Moitra's acceptance of bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani. Furthermore, Hiranandani submitted a three-page affidavit, asserting that Moitra shared her Parliament login credentials with him to post questions on her behalf. Moitra, in response, questioned the credibility of the affidavit, pointing out its lack of an official letterhead or notarization. The case has attracted political attention, and the ethics committee of the Lok Sabha has summoned Dubey and Dehadrai to depose in connection with their allegations against Moitra.
